Calculation steps

How to calculate
Convert innings notation into integer outs before calculating rates, avoiding decimal-innings errors.
ERA=27×earned runs/outs; WHIP=3×(hits+walks)/outs; K/9=27×K/outs
Worked example
6.2 innings means 20 outs, or 6⅔ innings. With 2 earned runs, 5 hits and 2 walks, ERA is 2.7 and WHIP is 1.05.
Assumptions and input details
Nine-inning normalization is fixed and explicitly labelled. Innings suffixes .0, .1 and .2 are accepted; .3–.9 are rejected. WHIP excludes hit batters. Zero recorded outs gives undefined rate statistics, even if runs or baserunners were recorded. You supply official scoring counts; no season or leaderboard qualification is inferred.

Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
