How to calculate
Use the CIEDE2000 adjusted chroma/hue, weighting terms and blue-region rotation interaction with angular-wrap rules.
ΔE00=√[(ΔL′/(kL SL))²+(ΔC′/(kC SC))²+(ΔH′/(kH SH))²+RT×Cterm×Hterm]
Worked example
The first published Sharma/Wu/Dalal supplementary pair, Lab (50,2.6772,−79.7751) and (50,0,−82.7485), gives ΔE00≈2.0425 with all factors one.
Assumptions and input details
Enter measured CIELAB under a common white/observer and comparable measurement conditions. Supported L* 0–100, a*/b* −150–150 and factors 0.1–10. No RGB/profile conversion, screen color matching or universal perceptibility/acceptance threshold is applied. ΔE76 is shown as a separate Euclidean convention. Measurement uncertainty, material texture and application-specific tolerances are external.

Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
