Calculation steps
Work through one step at a time or reveal the complete calculation. The steps use your current inputs.
How to calculate
Intersect the query interval with the support and divide its length by the total support length.
Probability=max(0,min(upper,b)−max(lower,a))/(b−a)
Worked example
Uniform support [0,10] gives probability 0.3 in [2,5], mean 5 and variance 100/12.
Assumptions and input details
Maximum must exceed minimum and query upper must not be below lower. Continuous endpoints have zero point probability; no discrete integer sampling or empirical fit.

Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
Calculate a normal probability below, above or between entered values. See standardized z scores, a probability breakdown and a bell curve with the selected region.
Evaluate a continuous triangular CDF, density and moments from lower, modal and upper values.
Enter discrete outcomes and their probabilities to calculate expected value, net expectation after a fixed cost and outcome spread.
