Calculation steps
Work through one step at a time or reveal the complete calculation. The steps use your current inputs.
How to calculate
Use centered cross-products and the entered Y-to-X measurement-error variance ratio, with a stable equivalent root where needed.
Slope=(Syy−λSxx+√((Syy−λSxx)²+4λSxy²))/(2Sxy); intercept=ȳ−slope x̄
Worked example
For Y=2X exactly and any positive entered variance ratio, Deming regression returns slope 2, intercept 0 and fitted Y=12 at X=6.
Assumptions and input details
Independent paired errors with constant variance ratio, no covariance between X/Y errors, and a straight latent relation. λ depends on the measurement units and is not fitted. Vertical/nonunique solutions are rejected; no confidence interval or measurement validation.
Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
Fit y=a+bx to 2–100 entered coordinate pairs. Inspect the regression equation, correlation, R², predictions, residuals and a scatter plot.
Fit a robust median pairwise-slope line with the joint median-residual intercept convention.
Calculate paired measurement bias and descriptive 95% limits of agreement with a difference-versus-mean plot.
