Calculation steps

How to calculate
Calculate active hours as scheduled hours times duty fraction. Use standby power for the rest of each24-hour day, including inactive duty-cycle intervals. Multiply each power by its hours and divide watt-hours by1000. Apply the entered per-kWh price and add the fixed charge once.
kWh/day=[Pactive Hduty+Pstandby(24−Hduty)]/1000; cost=period kWh×rate+fixed
Worked example
1000W for2h/day plus1W during the other22h uses2.022kWh/day. Over30 days this is60.66kWh, costing12.132 at a price of0.20 per kWh, before any unentered charges.
Assumptions and input details
Power is actual draw in each state, not cooling/heating output capacity. Hours must be0–24; duty0–100%; days an integer1–3660. Active/standby draw is limited to1e9W. All prices use one entered currency. No provider tariffs, tax, tiered rates or automatic seasonal usage assumptions are supplied. The fixed charge is for the whole selected period and is added once.
Unit definitions
Unit selection is independent of language. Each selector contains only units for its physical quantity. Calculations use defined base units internally.
SI prefixes are explicit: for example, milli means one thousandth, micro one millionth and kilo one thousand. Changing a unit changes the interpretation of the entered number.
Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
