Calculation steps
Work through one step at a time or reveal the complete calculation. The steps use your current inputs.
How to calculate
Scale only the entered sales-linked assets and spontaneous liabilities by the sales growth. Subtract next-period retained profit from their net incremental funding need.
Additional funds=(linked assets−spontaneous liabilities)×sales growth−retained next-period profit
Worked example
Sample sales growth of 20% needs 120000 more linked assets, offset by 40000 more liabilities. Forecast profit 120000 retains 72000 after 40% payout, leaving 8000 external funding.
Assumptions and input details
A simplified financial planning identity using entered assumptions. Existing asset utilization, fixed-asset steps, interest on new funding and financing feedback are excluded. Payout applies only to positive forecast profit; a forecast loss is fully retained as a funding use, with no negative dividend or tax refund invented. A negative required-funds result is a modeled surplus. No live market data or national tax rules are inferred. Enter consistent amounts in one currency unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
Estimate receivable, inventory and payable days using matching-period flows and average balances.
Annualize recurring income and expenses, compare monthly equivalents and show the entered household surplus or shortfall.
Group dated inflows and outflows to show closing cash positions and gaps against an entered buffer.
