Calculation steps

How to calculate
Calculate each axle torque for two identical wheels. Effective clamp area is the area that directly gives total pad clamp force when multiplied by line pressure.
Per-wheel torque=pressure×effective clamp area×friction×effective radius; front bias=Tf/(Tf+Tr)
Worked example
The default effective clamp areas and radii give front torque 1200 N·m per wheel and rear 600 N·m; front axle torque share is 66.6666667%.
Assumptions and input details
Supply effective clamp area carefully: fixed opposed pistons use all piston areas; floating calipers use twice the piston area on the active side. Static torque model only; no tire grip, dynamic load transfer, ABS, brake balance recommendation or safety certification.

Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
Convert pressure across SI and other common units. Distinguish absolute and gauge readings using a reference pressure you enter, and compare both in a unit table. Convert an optional list of readings using the same units and pressure reference.
Resolve two forces into a resultant, or check whether a block can stay at rest on an incline. Inspect components, friction limits and acceleration after slipping begins.
Calculate static axle reactions after adding a point load at an entered longitudinal position.
