Calculation steps

How to calculate
Convert liquid capacity to cubic meters, keeping each regional cup and gallon separate.
volume m³=value×source factor; target volume=m³/target factor
Worked example
One US liquid gallon is 3.785411784 L; one Imperial gallon is 4.54609 L. One US customary cup is 236.5882365 mL.
Assumptions and input details
These are capacity units, not ingredient masses. No grams-per-cup density is assumed. US liquid and Imperial gallons, pints and fluid ounces are distinct; dry measures are excluded. A metric cup is explicitly 250 mL, a metric tablespoon 15 mL and an Australian tablespoon 20 mL. Use the definition in the actual recipe or measuring vessel.

Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
Calibrate your own cup using repeated filled-container weighings.
Convert entered prices per liter, US gallon or Imperial gallon with an explicit manual currency multiplier.
Convert pounds, kilograms, ounces, stone and explicitly identified ton and troy units.
