Calculation steps
Work through one step at a time or reveal the complete calculation. The steps use your current inputs.
How to calculate
Normalize each predictor, retain an intercept and solve the full-rank design using reorthogonalized QR.
Y ≈ intercept+β₁X₁+…+βₚXₚ
Worked example
For Y=1+2X1+3X2, the entered five rows fit intercept 1 and slopes 2,3. Query X1=3 and X2=2 gives fitted Y=13.
Assumptions and input details
2–5 predictors and up to 500 complete rows; observations must outnumber intercept plus predictors. Constant and numerically collinear designs are rejected. Every column needs consistent units. Training R² and adjusted R² are descriptive, not a validation score. No missing-value imputation, categorical encoding, coefficient significance, variable selection or prediction interval is supplied.
Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
Fit y=a+bx to 2–100 entered coordinate pairs. Inspect the regression equation, correlation, R², predictions, residuals and a scatter plot.
Fit a quadratic to observed X/Y pairs with a stable normalized least-squares calculation, residual table and fitted-value query.
Compare independent-group Cohen d, gamma-corrected Hedges g and Glass delta from sample summary statistics.
