How to calculate
Convert the power numerator and solid-angle denominator separately.
Radiant intensity in W/sr = value × watts per power unit / steradians per solid-angle unit
Worked example
1 W/sr is 1000 mW/sr. One W/deg² is approximately 3282.80635 W/sr.
Assumptions and input details
Radiant intensity is radiometric power per solid angle. It is not luminous intensity in candela, irradiance per area or total flux in watts. Converting to photometric units needs a spectrum and weighting function; this unit converter does not assume either.

Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
