Calculation steps

How to calculate
Multiply width, channels and bits per channel; round to whole bytes per row and then to the requested byte alignment. Multiply by rows and independent images.
Packed row bytes=ceil(width×channels×bits/8); stride=alignment×ceil(packed row/alignment); bytes=stride×height×images
Worked example
A 3×2 single-channel 8-bit raster aligned to 4 bytes uses 4 bytes per row and 8 bytes total, with 1 padding byte per row.
Assumptions and input details
Interleaved channels with tight bit packing within each row; the final partial byte is padded. The image/plane multiplier repeats the whole entered channel layout. It is not a separate planar-channel layout. No file header, metadata, compression, texture block format, mipmaps or GPU tiling. Total bytes must be a safe exact JavaScript integer.

Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
