Calculation steps

How to calculate
Split each list at commas, semicolons or line breaks, trim each item and remove duplicates within that set. Count intersection and union membership before applying three named set-similarity coefficients.
Jaccard=|A∩B|/|A∪B|; Dice=2|A∩B|/(|A|+|B|); overlap=|A∩B|/min(|A|,|B|)
Worked example
A={apple, banana, cherry} and B={banana, cherry, date} have intersection size 2 and union size 4. Jaccard=0.5, Dice=2/3 and overlap=2/3.
Assumptions and input details
Each set needs 1–200 nonempty items; each trimmed item is at most 100 Unicode code points. Commas, semicolons and line breaks separate items, so those characters cannot be part of an item. Repeated items within one set count once. Ignore-case mode uses Unicode lowercase conversion, not locale collation, stemming, spelling, semantic similarity or fuzzy matching.

Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
