How to calculate
Convert the angle to radians for the trigonometric functions. On a unit circle, cosine is the horizontal coordinate and sine is the vertical coordinate. Tangent is sine divided by cosine; the other three functions are reciprocals.
sin θ = y; cos θ = x; tan θ = sin θ / cos θ; csc θ = 1/sin θ; sec θ = 1/cos θ; cot θ = cos θ/sin θ
Worked example
At 30°, sin = 0.5, cos ≈ 0.866025404 and tan ≈ 0.577350269. The unit-circle point is approximately (0.866025404, 0.5). At 90°, tangent and secant are undefined.
Assumptions and input details
Supply a numeric angle, such as 1.5707963267948966 radians, rather than an expression containing π. Negative angles and complete turns are allowed, up to magnitude 100,000,000 in the selected unit. A reciprocal whose denominator has magnitude below 1e−14 is marked undefined or too close to a pole, rather than displaying a misleading large finite value. Results are approximate; the unit-circle diagram uses equal horizontal and vertical scales.

Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
