Calculation steps
Work through one step at a time or reveal the complete calculation. The steps use your current inputs.
How to calculate
At each reset, recalculate a level month-end payment over the remaining original term using the then-outstanding principal and new annual rate divided by 12.
Reset payment=outstanding principal/annuityPV(new annual rate/12,remaining months)
Worked example
Principal 1200 over 12 months at zero interest gives payment 100. If rate remains zero at a month-7 reset, the remaining 600 is repaid in six payments of 100.
Assumptions and input details
1β600 monthly periods and up to 100 increasing reset months starting at 1. No contractual payment caps, delayed repricing, floors, fees or prepayments. Future entered rates are scenarios, not forecasts. Balances use the remaining-annuity formula between resets to avoid subtractive rounding drift. All results are before tax unless the entered cash flows already include it. No national rules, investment recommendations or actual market forecasts are supplied. No live market data or national tax rules are inferred. Enter consistent amounts in one currency unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
