Calculation steps
Work through one step at a time or reveal the complete calculation. The steps use your current inputs.
How to calculate
Estimate possessions for each box score, average them and express scoring per 100 common estimated possessions.
Poss≈FGA−ORB+TO+0.44FTA; ORtg=100×team points/average estimated possessions
Worked example
The default team estimates 90.8 possessions and opponent 91.92; their common average is 91.36. Team 100 points gives offensive rating about 109.4571 points per 100 estimated possessions.
Assumptions and input details
Use matched team/opponent totals on the same reporting basis. This is the simple box-score estimate with factor 0.44, not an official play-by-play possession count. Pace is normalized to your entered regulation minutes and elapsed game length must be at least that length. No individual-player usage/efficiency, opponent adjustment, prediction or league-specific official rating is supplied.

Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
