Calculation steps
Work through one step at a time or reveal the complete calculation. The steps use your current inputs.
How to calculate
Use moles of solute per kilogram of solvent. Multiply molality, solvent constant and particle factor. Apply the signed shift to the entered pure-solvent transition. Convert the final absolute temperature to the selected scale.
ΔTb=i Kb m; Tb(solution)=Tb(pure)+ΔTb
Worked example
A constant 0.512 K·kg/mol, molality 1 and factor 1 raise a 100°C boiling point to 100.512°C.
Assumptions and input details
Ideal dilute solution with a nonvolatile solute and a supplied particle factor. Enter constants and a pure-solvent point for the same pressure and solvent. The example water constants are illustrative, not a material-property lookup.

Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
Convert solution molarity and solvent-based molality using entered solution density and solute molar mass.
Convert Celsius, Fahrenheit, kelvin and Rankine. Distinguish actual temperatures from temperature changes, and compare all four scales in a table.
