Calculation steps
Work through one step at a time or reveal the complete calculation. The steps use your current inputs.
How to calculate
Divide ending wealth by starting wealth, then take the reciprocal-years power. Show a constant-growth comparison path between the endpoints.
CAGR=(ending/starting)^(1/years)β1
Worked example
10000 growing to 16105.1 over five years has CAGR 10% and total growth 61.051%.
Assumptions and input details
Starting value must be positive; ending value may be zero. This endpoint rate does not measure volatility, cash-flow timing, fees or tax. Fractional years are allowed. The path is an illustration, not measured intermediate wealth. No live market data or national tax rules are inferred. Enter consistent amounts in one currency unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
Model an initial deposit plus equal periodic contributions. Compare beginning/end contributions, nominal/effective annual rates, total deposits and before-tax growth.
Chain investment subperiod returns while excluding external cash flows at the boundaries.
Add balances in different currencies, including debts. Convert the total and compare a table and currency chart.
