Calculation steps

How to calculate
Keep planned, earned and actual values in the same monetary baseline and explicitly use the constant-CPI completion scenario.
CPI=EV/AC; SPI=EV/PV; EAC=BAC/CPI; cost variance=EV−AC; schedule variance=EV−PV
Worked example
PV=10000, EV=8000, AC=9000 and BAC=50000 give CPI 8/9, SPI 0.8 and modeled EAC 56250 in the chosen currency.
Assumptions and input details
PV and EV cannot exceed BAC. EAC assumes the current cumulative cost efficiency continues; no actual remaining-work forecast is inferred. Schedule variance is in budget value, not elapsed days. TCPI to BAC is undefined when actual cost has exhausted BAC.
Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
