Calculation steps
Work through one step at a time or reveal the complete calculation. The steps use your current inputs.
How to calculate
Aggregate exact ingredient names, subtract their stock once and round each deficit up to full packs.
Packs=ceil(max(0,total demand−stock)/pack grams); cost=packs×pack price
Worked example
Flour demand 1300 g with 400 g stock needs one 1000 g pack, leaving 100 g after use. Sugar demand 300 g with 50 g stock needs one 500 g pack.
Assumptions and input details
Names match exactly, including case; supply names must be unique and every demanded ingredient needs one. Prices share one entered currency label. This is a plan with no purchase, live pricing, taxes, pack-size optimization or storage-life assessment.
Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
