Calculation steps

How to calculate
Multiply the amount per pack by the number of packs and convert to the selected quantity type’s base unit. Divide the total bundle price by that quantity, then multiply by the reference quantity. Rank the resulting unit prices from lowest to highest.
reference price = bundle price ÷ (amount per pack × pack count × unit factor) × reference amount in base units
Worked example
A 500 g pack costing 3.50 has a price of 7.00 per kg. A 1 kg pack costing 6.00 is cheaper by 1.00 per kg. The first pack’s unit price is 16.6667% above the cheapest.
Assumptions and input details
Enter the total price for the entire bundle once; the pack count multiplies quantity, not price. All products must use one currency and one quantity type. Weight and volume cannot be compared without additional product information. Changing the quantity type clears product amounts so an old mass is not silently treated as a volume. The ranking compares entered price per quantity, not product quality. Prices may be zero; percentages relative to a free baseline are undefined.

Unit definitions
Unit selection is independent of language. Each selector contains only units for its physical quantity. Calculations use defined base units internally.
Choose from 23 length definitions, including explicitly labelled regional measures. Area conversions square the length factor; geometric volumes cube it.
The 19 mass definitions distinguish avoirdupois and troy measures, metric and regional measures. Japanese kin is 600 g; mainland Chinese shijin is 500 g.
The 36 volume definitions distinguish US liquid, US dry and Imperial measures. Cups carry an explicit definition. Japanese shō is 2401/1331 L and a gō is one tenth of it; the explicitly labelled 180 mL rice cup is separate.
Regional measures are not interchangeable merely because their names look similar. This is a documented selection, not a claim to include every historical unit.

Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
