How to calculate
Inset first centers by edge clearance plus half a diameter. Count complete center positions row by row, applying a half-pitch shift on alternate staggered rows.
Center bounds=[edge+diameter/2, panel dimension−edge−diameter/2]
Worked example
A 300×200 mm panel with 10 mm holes, 10 mm edge clearance and 50×50 mm rectangular pitch holds 6 columns×4 rows=24 holes.
Assumptions and input details
Reference origin is the lower-left panel corner. Diameter and pitch define ideal circular holes; no tool compensation or structural weakening is inferred. Pattern pitches must avoid overlap in the repeating pattern. Up to 10000 rows and one million holes; first 199 and final hole coordinates are shown when more than 200 are present. A panel too small returns zero holes.
