How to calculate
Use gas-phase stoichiometric coefficients for the mole change. Convert temperature to kelvin. Form the ideal-gas reference-state ratio. Multiply or divide by that ratio raised to the gas mole change.
Kp=Kc×[RT c°/p°]^Δn; c°=1 mol/L; p°=1 bar
Worked example
At 300 K and gas mole change 1, Kc=1 gives Kp approximately 24.943388 with the stated reference standards.
Assumptions and input details
Ideal gases only. Constants are dimensionless using concentration reference one molar and pressure reference one bar. Values based on one atmosphere or different concentration standards must first use compatible references. Pure solids and liquids do not enter the gas mole change.
Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
Calculate standard Gibbs energy and dimensionless equilibrium constant from entered standard enthalpy, entropy and temperature.
Solve pressure, volume, amount of gas or absolute temperature using PV=nRT. Select explicit units and inspect the substituted equation and equivalent quantities.
Compare a measurement with a reference or calculate symmetric percentage difference between two values.
