Calculation steps

How to calculate
Subtract the deducted upfront fee from principal. Place equal payments at monthly period ends. Solve the payment present-value equation for the monthly rate. Report both twelve-times-monthly and compounded annual rates.
Net proceeds=payment×Σ(1+r)^−k; nominal annual=12r; effective annual=(1+r)^12−1
Worked example
Receiving 1200 and paying 100 at each of twelve month ends gives an implied rate of zero.
Assumptions and input details
An economic cash-flow calculation, not a statutory APR disclosure. All payments must be equal and monthly; timing, financed fees, penalties and local legal inclusions are not inferred. Negative implied rates are supported.
Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
