Calculation steps

How to calculate
Reduce the entered unit mix by its integer GCD, calculate complete-bundle contribution and round required bundles upward.
Whole bundles=ceil[(fixed cost+target profit)/contribution per reduced mix bundle]
Worked example
A 2:1 unit mix with prices/costs 10/6 and 20/12 contributes 16 per three-unit bundle. Fixed costs of 1000 require 63 whole bundles, or 189 units, with modeled profit 8.
Assumptions and input details
2β20 products and nonnegative whole unit-mix counts, with at least one positive count. Product mix is by units, not revenue share. Prices and variable costs are constant; whole bundles preserve the exact mix, unlike rounding a weighted average unit result. Nonpositive bundle contribution cannot fund positive fixed costs/target profit. This is not a product-mix optimizer or demand forecast.

Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
Compare sales revenue with fixed and variable costs. Find the break-even quantity, the first whole-unit quantity without a loss and profit at your chosen sales volume.
Maximize an entered linear contribution from two continuously divisible products under shared resource capacities.
Show how an entered volume change affects operating profit and pre-tax per-share earnings under fixed price/cost assumptions.
