Calculation steps
Work through one step at a time or reveal the complete calculation. The steps use your current inputs.
How to calculate
Sum signed intrinsic option values at expiry, subtract net entry premiums and fees, then inspect strike boundaries and the final linear tail.
Call intrinsic=max(S−strike,0); put intrinsic=max(strike−S,0); net profit=Σsigned intrinsic−net premium−fees
Worked example
Buy a 100 call for 5 and sell a 110 call for 2, one contract of 100 units each: net premium is 300, break-even 103, maximum loss 300 and maximum profit 700 before fees.
Assumptions and input details
1–20 option legs on the same nonnegative-price underlying and expiry, with whole contracts and positive contract units. Expiry cash payoff only; no early exercise, assignment, financing, margin, tax or underlying-share positions. Chart range is separate from analytical tail bounds. Flat zero-profit price intervals are identified separately from isolated break-even prices. No live market data or national tax rules are inferred. Enter consistent amounts in one currency unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
Calculate Black–Scholes–Merton call/put values and sensitivities, or solve positive implied volatility from an entered premium.
Estimate share sale profit after fees and optional tax. Separate your original investment from sale proceeds and compare price scenarios.
Add balances in different currencies, including debts. Convert the total and compare a table and currency chart.
