    How to calculate

Subtract the entered known series lead resistance and solve the ideal CVD relation by bracketing in Celsius.

    R/R0=1+A T+B T²+[C(T−100)T³ for T<0]; invert monotonically on −200…850°C

    Worked example

For the stated coefficient set, 100 Ω gives 0°C with R0=100 Ω. Resistance 138.5055 Ω gives 100°C. R0=1000 Ω supports the same nominal curve without creating another tool.

    Assumptions and input details

Fixed nominal coefficients A=3.9083×10⁻³, B=−5.775×10⁻⁷, C=−4.183×10⁻¹² in Celsius powers. These are an idealized characteristic, not calibration of an individual sensor. Known lumped lead subtraction is not inferred from two/three/four-wire topology; no self-heating or tolerance compensation.

    Unit definitions

Unit selection is independent of language. Each selector contains only units for its physical quantity. Calculations use defined base units internally.

SI prefixes are explicit: for example, milli means one thousandth, micro one millionth and kilo one thousand. Changing a unit changes the interpretation of the entered number.

    Using this calculator

Can I enter my own problem?

Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.

    Are the results exact?

Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.

    Is my input uploaded?

The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
