How to calculate
Speed is distance divided by elapsed time. Pace is elapsed time per chosen unit distance. Multiply pace by distance to estimate elapsed time, or divide time by pace to estimate distance. Split times use the same constant speed throughout.
speed = distance/time; pace = time/distance; elapsed time = pace × distance
Worked example
5 km in 25:00 gives 5:00 per km, about 8:02.80 per mile and 12 km/h. At the same constant pace, 10 km takes 50:00. This is arithmetic extrapolation, not a physiological performance forecast.
Assumptions and input details
Colon input uses m:ss or h:mm:ss; a bare number means seconds. Values must be positive. The calculator uses the time you enter, without assuming whether it is moving time or elapsed time. It does not model fatigue, terrain, stops or training adaptations. Split tables show at most 199 regular intervals plus the exact finish; long omitted ranges are disclosed. Marathon and half-marathon examples use 42.195 km and 21.0975 km.

Unit definitions
Unit selection is independent of language. Each selector contains only units for its physical quantity. Calculations use defined base units internally.
Choose from 23 length definitions, including explicitly labelled regional measures. Area conversions square the length factor; geometric volumes cube it.
Regional measures are not interchangeable merely because their names look similar. This is a documented selection, not a claim to include every historical unit.

Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
