Calculation steps
Work through one step at a time or reveal the complete calculation. The steps use your current inputs.
How to calculate
Subtract each start from its dated end, subtract unpaid break minutes, then sum net minutes and multiply hours by the entered rate.
Net minutes=end−start−break; gross pay=net minutes/60×hourly rate
Worked example
09:00–17:30 with a 30-minute break is 8 paid hours. Two such shifts at 20 per hour total 16 hours and gross pay 320.
Assumptions and input details
Enter 1–100 shifts with whole-minute breaks; each shift must be at most seven days and the break cannot exceed its duration. Dates explicitly handle overnight work. Clock labels are treated as civil clock arithmetic without timezone or daylight-saving adjustment. Overlapping rows are counted as entered; no overlap deduction, overtime law, paid-break policy, tax or payroll rounding rule is inferred. Pay is a before-deductions scenario at one entered rate.
Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
Add or subtract up to 100 durations. Use signed clock durations or decimal hours, minutes or seconds, then compare the exact total and running sums.
Add or subtract working days with your weekend pattern and excluded dates. Find a completion date or work backward from a deadline.
Split a shared expense by equal or weighted shares and calculate who pays whom. Keep rounded shares and transfers balanced exactly to your selected currency precision.
