How to calculate
Convert each solubility to a capacity for the entered water mass. At equilibrium, dissolved solute is the smaller of total solute and capacity. Solid solute is the excess. Compare initial and final solid amounts to identify new crystals or redissolved solid.
Capacity=water mass×solubility/100; solid=max(0,total solute−capacity)
Worked example
A hypothetical saturated solution containing100g solute in100g water initially has no excess solid. If final solubility is30g per100g water,70g crystallizes and30g stays dissolved.
Assumptions and input details
Supply solubilities for the actual substance and initial/final conditions; example values are hypothetical. Solubilities are mass of solute per100g unchanged water, not mass percent of the whole solution. Assume equilibrium, unchanged solute composition, no solvent evaporation and no crystallization water removed from the solvent. Solubility inputs0–1e6; water is positive and base masses are capped at1e12g. Supersaturation and nucleation delay are not modeled.

Unit definitions
Unit selection is independent of language. Each selector contains only units for its physical quantity. Calculations use defined base units internally.
The 19 mass definitions distinguish avoirdupois and troy measures, metric and regional measures. Japanese kin is 600 g; mainland Chinese shijin is 500 g.
Regional measures are not interchangeable merely because their names look similar. This is a documented selection, not a claim to include every historical unit.

Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
