Calculation steps

Work through one step at a time or reveal the complete calculation. The steps use your current inputs.

    How to calculate

Invert the summed logistic expected scores using all opponent ratings instead of substituting their arithmetic mean.

Find R such that Σ[1/(1+10^((opponent−R)/400))]=earned score

    Worked example

Opponents 1400,1600,1800 and score 1.5 of 3 give logistic performance rating 1600 by symmetry.

    Assumptions and input details

Score must be strictly between zero and game count; perfect/zero scores have no finite solution. This is an explicitly defined Elo-logistic estimate, not an official federation table, rating update or confidence interval. Individual opponents and results are treated as fixed inputs.

    Using this calculator

Can I enter my own problem?

Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.

    Are the results exact?

Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.

    Is my input uploaded?

The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
