How to calculate
Convert the air temperature and weather-observation wind speed to the published Fahrenheit/mph convention.
Wind chill °F=35.74+0.6215T−35.75V^0.16+0.4275T V^0.16, with V in mph
Worked example
At 0°F and 15 mph the formula gives approximately −19°F; it does not predict that an inanimate object cools below actual air temperature.
Assumptions and input details
Defined only at air temperature ≤50°F and wind speed >3 mph; upper input wind is limited to 200 mph. Index assumes no solar warming and is not a personal exposure or frostbite-time prediction.

Unit definitions
Unit selection is independent of language. Each selector contains only units for its physical quantity. Calculations use defined base units internally.
Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
