Calculation steps
Work through one step at a time or reveal the complete calculation. The steps use your current inputs.
How to calculate
Convert spring and wall angles to radians. Use half the entered interior wall angle. Calculate the miter-table swing from the tangent relation. Calculate the bevel magnitude and convert both settings to degrees.
Miter=atan(sin(S)/tan(C/2)); bevel=asin(cos(S)cos(C/2))
Worked example
A 38° spring angle at a 90° wall corner gives about 31.619° miter and 33.863° bevel.
Assumptions and input details
Magnitudes are for a compound cut with molding flat. Left/right piece orientation, fence contact, saw signs, outside corners and machine limits require the relevant machine instructions. No piece orientation is silently selected.

Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
