How to calculate
Keep the target and label on the same nutrient basis, divide target mass by that label fraction and report all three declared contributions.
Required product mass=area×entered target rate/(target label percent/100)
Worked example
An entered 5 g N/m² over 10 m² requires 50 g N. A product labelled 10-5-8 requires 500 g product, also declaring 25 g P₂O₅ equivalent and 40 g K₂O equivalent.
Assumptions and input details
The entered rate is an arithmetic target, not a fertilizer recommendation. Match local product labels and soil-test basis: elemental P/K and oxide-equivalent P₂O₅/K₂O are different. This tool reports the declared oxide-equivalent bases without converting to elemental P/K or treating oxide labels as actual separate ingredients. No release rate, soil availability, salts, crop requirement or application suitability is inferred. A positive target with zero target grade is rejected.

Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
Balance entered ingredient masses, wet-basis moisture and dry-basis elemental composition without relying on a material catalogue.
Convert mass fraction, mass percent, mass ppm, g/L, mg/L and mol/L using an explicit solution density and solute molar mass.
Count independent row posts, equal spans, wire runs and whole rolls with entered end-wrap and material allowances.
