How to calculate
Subtract product cost from price for gross profit. Gross margin divides that amount by price; price markup divides it by product cost. Subtract the entered variable and fixed selling fees for contribution after those fees.
contribution=P(1−fee rate)−cost−fixed fee; target P=(cost+fixed fee)/(1−fee rate−target margin)
Worked example
At cost 60, price 100, selling fee 5% and fixed fee 2, gross margin is 40%, price markup is 66.6667% and contribution after fees is 33, or 33% of price.
Assumptions and input details
All amounts share the entered currency. Cost and fixed fee are nonnegative; selling price must be positive. Fee percent is 0–99.999%. A target margin plus percentage fee must be below 100%. Price markup is calculated before selling fees; target margin mode instead targets contribution after the entered fees. Undefined markup at zero product cost is labelled. No taxes, shipping, refunds, payroll or general overhead are inferred. Results are not company net profit; enter relevant per-sale costs explicitly. No automatic currency conversion or contractual cent rounding is applied.

Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
