Calculation steps

How to calculate
Classify daily buckets first, then reclassify regular hours above the weekly threshold into overtime.
Gross pay=regular×rate+overtime×rate×OT multiplier+double time×rate×DT multiplier
Worked example
Daily hours 10, 10, 10, 10 and 8 with thresholds 8/12/40 produce 40 regular hours and 8 overtime hours. At 20 per hour and 1.5× overtime, gross pay is 1040.
Assumptions and input details
This is an entered-rule weekly scenario, not a statement of any labor law or contract. Exactly seven days, 0–24 hours each. Weekly overtime applies only to hours left regular after daily classification; excess is reclassified from the latest days. Holidays, varying rates, seventh-day rules, bonuses, taxes and exemptions are not inferred.
Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
Total dated work shifts after entered unpaid breaks and estimate gross pay at one entered hourly rate.
Convert a gross pay amount between hourly, daily, weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, monthly and annual bases.
Add or subtract up to 100 durations. Use signed clock durations or decimal hours, minutes or seconds, then compare the exact total and running sums. Compare per-entry decimal-hour conversion and rounding against rounding only the total.
