Calculation steps
Work through one step at a time or reveal the complete calculation. The steps use your current inputs.
How to calculate
Multiply share count by new/old ratio and divide theoretical price by the same ratio. Allocate entered cost proportionately between retained and residual shares.
New exact shares=old shares×new/old; theoretical new price=old price×old/new
Worked example
A 1-for-10 reverse split of 125 shares at 40 produces 12.5 exact shares at theoretical price 400. With whole shares, 12 remain and 0.5 is the residual.
Assumptions and input details
No economic gain is created by the ratio itself. Fraction handling and actual cash settlement depend on issuer terms; the calculator only follows the entered choice. Blank cash-in-lieu price means residual proceeds unknown. Cost allocation is arithmetic only and is not a national tax-basis or taxable-gain determination. No live market data or national tax rules are inferred. Enter consistent amounts in one currency unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
Compare ownership and a simple cash-adjusted theoretical share price after an entered new issue.
Estimate share sale profit after fees and optional tax. Separate your original investment from sale proceeds and compare price scenarios.
Add balances in different currencies, including debts. Convert the total and compare a table and currency chart.
