How to calculate
Group values by the supplied labels, use sample variances and keep robust median-centered and normal-theory assumptions separate.
Brown–Forsythe applies ANOVA to |x−group median|; Bartlett compares pooled log variances with its correction
Worked example
Three default groups have sample variances 1,4,1. Their median-centered absolute-deviation F statistic is 2/3.
Assumptions and input details
2–10 groups, at least three observations per group, positive variances and nonzero within-group absolute-deviation variation. Brown–Forsythe is median-centered Levene; Bartlett is sensitive to nonnormality. Reported tails are model approximations, with no automatic test-selection claim.

Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
Partition variation across three or more groups into between-group and within-group sums of squares.
Compare means of three or more independent groups with unequal sample variances using Welch’s omnibus F.
Compare two datasets on the same axis using quartiles, Tukey whiskers and outlier points. Inspect differences in median and interquartile range.
