Calculation steps
Work through one step at a time or reveal the complete calculation. The steps use your current inputs.
How to calculate
For each future year pay annual coupons on bonds not yet matured, then repay face on bonds maturing at that year end.
Year cash flow=Σoutstanding annual coupons+Σface maturing that year
Worked example
The three example bonds cost 3000 in total and pay 1150, 1110 and 1060 in years one, two and three.
Assumptions and input details
Annual year-end coupons only, purchase immediately after a coupon date, 1–100 whole maturity years and at most 30 bonds. All payments are assumed made. No coupon reinvestment, default, accrued interest, inflation, tax or rollover purchases. This is a scheduled cash-flow ladder, not an averaged portfolio YTM. No live market data or national tax rules are inferred. Enter consistent amounts in one currency unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
Price a fixed-coupon bond at a coupon date or solve its yield from an entered full price.
Discount signed cash flows at their entered times and sum their present values. Keep initial outlays, future inflows and the undiscounted total visible.
Add balances in different currencies, including debts. Convert the total and compare a table and currency chart.
