How to calculate
For buys, an execution above reference is adverse; for sells, below reference is adverse. Sum signed price differences and explicit fees.
Adverse price cost=quantity×(executed−reference) for buys, quantity×(reference−executed) for sells
Worked example
Buying 100 at 10.02 against reference 10 costs 2 in price slippage; with fee 1, total implementation cost is 3. Favorable execution produces a negative price cost.
Assumptions and input details
The reference must be the price benchmark you intend to compare; no market feed is supplied. 1–100 fills in one currency, positive quantity and reference price, nonnegative execution price/fees. Basis points use total absolute reference notional. Unfilled orders, timing opportunity cost, financing and taxes are excluded. No live market data or national tax rules are inferred. Enter consistent amounts in one currency unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
Compare two entered per-order commission schedules with minimums, caps and proportional spread costs.
Analyze signed realized trade results after entered fees, including wins, losses and loss streaks.
Add balances in different currencies, including debts. Convert the total and compare a table and currency chart.
