Calculation steps
Work through one step at a time or reveal the complete calculation. The steps use your current inputs.
How to calculate
Recover the gross revenue needed after percentage fees, then divide by annual billable hours.
Billable hours=weeks×hours×billable share; hourly rate=(income goal+costs)/[(1−fee)×billable hours]
Worked example
An income goal of 60000, business costs of 12000, 46 weeks, 40 hours/week, 60% billable time and a 3% revenue fee require about 67.2344240 currency units per billable hour.
Assumptions and input details
All money uses the same entered currency and annual basis. The income goal is before personal income taxes; taxes are not estimated or assumed zero. Hours, utilization, fees and costs are scenarios, not market prices or guaranteed sales. Expenses should exclude a second copy of the personal income goal. Overtime, benefits, late payment and holidays outside entered working weeks are not inferred.

Using this calculator
Can I enter my own problem?
Yes. Replace the example values with your own inputs. The result, calculation steps, tables and applicable diagrams update from those inputs. Blank or invalid values clear the result; example values are never silently substituted for missing inputs.
Are the results exact?
Results use floating-point arithmetic and displayed rounding. Read the formula, assumptions and any stated data precision before interpreting the result.
Is my input uploaded?
The calculation runs in your browser. No account, file upload or external AI service is required. Inputs are not saved between page reloads.
